 CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, December 24th.  There will be practices during our normal December Sunday school hour from 8:50-9:50 on Sundays: Dec 7, 14, and 21st.  We will have a dress rehearsal on Sunday, December 21st.  The Children’s Christmas Eve Program will be the following Wednesday night at 6:00pm.  We celebrate the birth of our Savior!

The planning team needs to know a few key pieces of information:

1) Will your child(ren) be participating? (YES OR NO)

2) If YES... does the child desire to have a Speaking part or NO Speaking part?

3) Need adult helpers… can you help?

Please email or text a response back to DCE Ben by Sunday, November 16th.

Once we have names, we will be assigning parts.  Practice times will be Sunday mornings (8:50 to 9:50am).  If you are interested in helping with program music or practices, talk to DCE Ben.

** In the event of inclement weather and school gets cancelled or dismissed early… Midweek will also be cancelled that evening.

** Parents: Reminder that if children are sick or have fevers, please keep them out of children activities on those days.  We are trying to minimize the spread of germs to other families and volunteers.

 ** CHRISTMAS PROGRAM SPECIAL MUSIC

If your child plans to play any special instrumental music prior to the program, please let DCE Ben or Kathy know by Sunday, December 14th.  We also need to know 1) what instrument and 2) what the name of the song will be.

 NOVEMBER YOUTH STUFF…

 ALL YOUTH (6-12th grade):

ALL YOUTH: LEAF RAKING MARATHON- Sunday, Nov 23

The Youth of Zion (6-12th grade) will be serving some of our members and local community by doing some yard work for those who could use a helping hand.  We will meet at church at 1pm and try to wrap up around 4:30pm.  Bring rakes, work gloves and check your email for other details.  Family members are welcome to attend.  If you know anyone that may need help with yard work, please contact DCE Ben.

 YOUTH CAROLING & FUN NIGHT

Save the date for Sunday, December 14th (4:00pm) as we are planning to do some caroling!  We will aim to take the Youth and their families to a few local neighborhood homes for caroling and then back to church for food and games!  Zion members are welcome to join in on the caroling!

 Middle School Stuff...  (6-8th graders)

DISTRICT MS YOUTH GATHERING  – November 8, 2025

Pray for our youth as they travel to and from the Nebraska district Youth gathering in Kearney on Saturday, Nov. 8.  They will hear speakers, music, and a talent show!  The theme: “SHOW” is focused on Romans 5:8 and how God SHOWS his love for us, even while we are still sinners.

 CHRISTMAS PROGRAM- (Wed., Dec 24th)

As we prepare for the Christmas program, we may have need of Middle school helpers to do some of the narrator readings or they can help with candle lighting.  Please email or text a response back to DCE Ben.

MS Cookies and Costume Night- October 26

What fun we had!  Thanks to Steph for being excellent helper in the kitchen!  We had a great turnout for cookie makers and COSTUMES… I enjoyed the Yankee, Husker- Volleyball/Football, and 3 team combo fan, but all were great.  We made some yummy Monster and sugar cookies.  Did a devotion on Matthew 10 talking about spiritual warfare and dangers that can attack us in the world, yet Jesus has overcome, so we have nothing to fear.  Next year, I dare the dads to come help run the oven!

High School Stuff... (9-12th graders)

ADVENT MEAL FUNDRAISERS- Wednesdays, December 3, 10, 17

In December, the High School youth will be serving our Advent meals from 5:30-6:30pm followed by 7pm Advent Services.  Mark your calendar.

HS Bonfire in the Country- October 12

Despite the wind again this year, the High School youth had a great time hanging out around the fire!  We burned some hotdogs and marshmallows... fun for all.  We talked about “WORDS” and how we prepare our hearts to hear God’s Word, like John the Baptist prepared hearts to receive the seeds of faith that it may grow and produce fruit.
