** The EASTER EGG HUNT was lots of fun and the weather was wonderful. Thanks to all the helpers who made that happen… especially the Zion Board of Education who coordinated the goodie bags and egg collection.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the numerous volunteers who helped make our 2025-26 Midweek & Sunday School hour successful. We would not be successful without the many gifts and talents used to share the Gospel of Jesus with our Zion youth/kids and friends. Thank you and enjoy your summer break!
YOUTH TRANSITIONS
Regarding our Summer youth classes, activities, and Vacation Bible School, children will stay with their current grade or Sunday School classes until the beginning of August.
**Parents of current 5th graders are invited to attend the Youth/Parent meeting on Sunday, August 9th to learn more about fall activities with their child.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Vacation Bible School is set for June 8-12th (8:30-11:30am). Our theme this year is “Tropical Trek” and we will explore how Jesus has come to SEEK and SAVE the Lost. VBS Registration forms will be found online by visiting our church website under the “Ministries” Tab (www.ZionHampton.com) and also on our Zion VBS Facebook page. Look for the QR code.
*** “VBS Kickoff Tropical Trek Beach Party” will be on Sunday, May 31st after church… we will have a meal provided, games, and fun to prepare us for the week of VBS.
Parent Reminders
** If your child is attending VBS, please Register as soon as possible.
** We are looking for parents/adult volunteers to help with VBS, please register yourself if you can help. Even if it is only a day or two, any help is appreciated. * Volunteer shirts will be free.
SUMMER CAMP 2026
Have your kids ever been to a summer Christian camp? Have you been to CAMP LUTHER?
DCE Ben is hoping to take a group of kids to camp and we would love to have you tag along. His family will be at camp from Sunday, June 21 to Friday, June 26. He will also be dropping kids off for camp the week of (Sun-Fri, June 14-19). Camps available for kids entering 1st thru 9th grades (Grade as of Fall 2026). ZION YOUTH & PARENT MEETING
Save the date: Sunday, August 9th after 10:00am church service. This will be our planning meeting for parents and youth for fall activities.
MAY HS EVENT & SPRING YOUTH PARENT MEETING- NONE
Due to DCE Ben being at his military school, we don’t currently have any early May events planned.
Middle School Stuff... (6-8th graders)
PUTT PUTT GOLF- Lincoln – Friday, May 29
Middle school youth (6-8th graders) are invited to an afternoon of fun and fellowship on Friday, May 29. We will meet at Zion at 1pm and carpool to Prehistoric Putt in Lincoln (1919 Cornhusker Hwy). Kids are encouraged to bring a friend and $10 to offset the cost of golf and a sweet treat afterwards. Eat Lunch before you leave. We will need an adult male & female chaperone to help with the event. Check email for details.
SPECIAL EVENT: Camp Jefferson (Fairbury, NE)- Fri-Sun, June 12-14, 2026
Zion Middle school youth (6-8th graders) are invited to join DCE Ben for a weekend retreat in Fairbury NE. A congregation from Kansas hosts an annual middle school retreat at a camp in Nebraska and DCE Ben was asked to be the main presenter for the retreat. With the blessing of the event planners, we are welcome to join in the fun. A registration packet will soon be coming. Youth going into 6-8th grade in the 2026-27 school year are welcome. Registration Fee $105, accepted until camp begins. Discounted Early camp registration of $95 ($10 off) accepted on or before May 15th. Registration fee covers programming costs, meals, cabin style housing, & T-shirt. Starts on Friday at 6pm and ends by Noon on Sunday. More details to come via email.
SUMMER STRETCH EVENTS – Wednesdays (June 17, July 8, August 5 & 7)
Middle school youth (6-8th graders) are invited to Zion for a day of volunteer work and also some fun and fellowship. We will meet at 8:00am and dismiss around 3pm. Three times this summer, we will do a different service project in local communities and then have some afternoon fun. Kids are encouraged to bring a friend and a snack to share. Looking for an adult male & female chaperone to help with the events. Lunch will be provided. Details coming via email.
High School Stuff... (9-12th graders)
HS CANOE TRIP DOWN THE NIOBRARA- July 8-11, 2026 (Wed-Sat)
Zion youth and families are invited to head north to the Niobrara River to do two days of fun on the river (choice of canoe/kayak/tubing). We will be tent camping, and cooking out over a fire! We will be joining other Lutheran youth and families from KS, IA, and NE. Cost is $150, which covers food and rentals. Need to register by June 15 if possible, so we can reserve rentals. We would travel on Wednesday, hit the river Thursday/Friday and travel home on Saturday. This is a cool opportunity for fun and fellowship, friends are welcome, parents and families are invited too! HS KANSAS CITY SERVICE & FUN – SUMMER (TBD)
DCE Ben is looking to line up a High school youth trip to Kansas City to do a day of service at the Immanuel Community Outreach Association (ICOA), as we prepare and serve meals to folks in need along with some other smaller projects. Then the next day head to Worlds & Oceans of Fun for some sun & fun! More details to come.
