SUNDAY SCHOOL (8:50-9:50am)  -  Grades PreK thru 12th

October 5, 12, 19, 26 – Regular Sunday Classes

** Sunday, Oct 12th- Voter’s Meeting after 10am church service

November 2, 9, 16, 23 – Regular Sunday Classes

* November 30 – Combined Thanksgiving Family Sunday School Lesson

 

** CHILDREN SING- SUNDAY (November 2):  Parents, please make sure kids are on time to practice our song for the next several Sundays in October from 8:50-9:00am.  On Sunday, November 2, children will line up in the fellowship hall at the end of the Sunday school hour and process in to sing at the beginning of the 10am service.  They will then join you in the pew. 

 

SAVE THE DATE... CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, December 24th.  The Children’s Christmas Eve Program that night at 6:00pm.  We celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior!  If anyone is interested in helping with program music or practices, please talk to DCE Ben.

 

OCTOBER YOUTH STUFF…

ALL YOUTH (6-12th grade):

 Thanks for all the wonderful donations and ideas to help make the Bible Bungalow (aka... Youth House) into a great place for our youth to gather each week.  More work to go, but coming along nicely... THANK YOU for supporting Zion Youth!!

 

Youth Medical Forms… We have new Youth Medical Forms for this academic year, if you haven't done this, please complete and turn in to DCE Ben.  I sent out via email, but have blank copies you can fill out.  We also need copies of your insurance cards and can do that at church if needed.

 

ALL YOUTH: LEAF RAKING MARATHON- Sunday, Nov 23

Save the date... Sunday, November 23th.  All youth (6th thru 12th grade students) will be helping neighbors in need with yard work from 1 to 4:30pm. Great service hours opportunity; parents & siblings are encouraged to participate too!

 

Middle School Stuff...  (6-8th graders)

Confirmation - Midweek (6:30-8pm on Wednesdays) 

We've had a couple great weeks of class to get us started.  Kids seem to enjoy the snacks and games, plus hopefully learning some new things about God/Bible.  Thanks to all the folks who signed up for snacks... Our calendar is filled up for the year!

MS Cookies and Costume Night- Sunday, Oct 26

Is happening at the end of October... We will be at Zion on Sunday, October 26th (5-8pm).  We will need a couple ADULT helpers.  Kids will get a postcard invite... they can bring a friend (please let me know if they plan to).  Costume Theme is "Favorite Fairytale character"... a known person or create a new one. 

 

MS Bowling in York- Saturday, Sept 20

It was a blast throwing balls again this year.  THANKS to all those who attended and Sarah Eberle for helping chaperone.  We talked about Ephesian 4:29 and the importance of our WORDS and the impact they have on others.  We witness our faith in God, but the things we say.

 

High School Stuff... (9-12th graders)

THANKS to everyone who attended our National Youth Gathering (NYG) Presentation on Sunday, September 21st during Sunday school hour.  It was a great trip to New Orleans this summer and we give thanks for such a supportive congregation to enable our youth to attend.

 

HIGH SCHOOL BONFIRE IN THE COUNTRY (Sunday, Oct 12)

High School youth will be having a bonfire fun night on Sunday, October 12th.  Meeting at church at 6:00pm, and we will burn some wood at the Youth House.   We will be enjoying some toasty hotdogs, smore’s, and drinks!  We’ll have some yard games to play too!  PLEASE RSVP, so we can pick up the right amount of food!  

 Things to Bring:

-          Camp chair

-          Friends are welcome

-          Favorite cookout side or snack

-          Bug Spray & Flashlights

 

HIGH SCHOOL HANG OUTS - Wednesdays, October 1 & 15

In October, the High School youth will be gathering at Zion a couple times a month to hang out, eat snacks, play some games and a short devo.  We will meet from 8:00-8:45pm.

 

THANKS… HS: PIZZA, POP, & PICKLEBALL (Sunday, Sept 21)

We had lots of laughs as we found ourselves occasionally in a “pickle” as we competed on Sept 21.  Congrats to ?? on winning the most matches (they won a couple jars of pickles).  Thanks to all the youth who participated and Big thanks to Kathy Gloystein, Brad Dietz, and Beth Schulze for helping with food and games!  Talked about Judges 7 & 8 – Gideon & the 300, Trusting God when the odds are against us.
